In Prehistoric Israel, the revered deities were Goddesses rather than male gods. The most significant of these was known as Ba’aleth, with her principal place of worship located in the city of Megiddo. This Goddess was also honored at megalithic sites across the land, some dating back 11,000 years. Societies were matriarchal, led predominantly by women. However, around 4,000 years ago, this era of peace was disrupted by invading war tribes, who overran the land and dismantled the ancient civilizations. Despite this upheaval, the reverence for Goddesses endured, finding a place within the spiritual practices of the ancient Israelite tribes.
